About Us

Honesty, Integrity and hard work are the pillars on which Rowland, Inc. was founded 30 years ago. Keith Rowland took his engineering and construction management background combined with his entrepreneurial spirit and started doing business as Rowland, Inc. (CGC-008892, CUC-052617) in 1987, focusing primarily on utility construction work in West Central Florida. Since that time, Keith and his sons Ken and Kevin have completed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of projects for governmental owners in the areas of manhole rehabilitation, lift station rehabilitation, sanitary sewer construction, storm sewer construction, water main constructions, reclaimed water construction, concrete construction, road building and emergency water and sewer repair.

In 1992 Rowland Inc. took our well earned reputation for integrity and quality of work and entered the Manhole Rehabilitation business. We recognized a severe and growing issue with our aging sanitary sewer infrastructure was manhole degradation, inflow and infiltration. Increased waste water processing expenses due to infiltration and inflow, costs taxpayers millions of dollars each year. Significant savings are generated by rehabilitating manholes, lift stations and sewer lines. Rowland, Inc. has been an applicator of Sewpercoat brand cementitious material for 25 years. In 2017, Rowland became an approved applicator for Raven Lining Systems protective coatings. We have rehabilitated over 140,000 vertical feet of manholes and lift stations, stopping degradation, delivering structural integrity and reducing waste water infiltration and inflow. Our application comes with a ten year warranty on material and installation.

History

Rowland Inc. of Pinellas Park, Florida is a state licensed General and Utility Contractor specializing in utility construction and manhole rehabilitation for state and local governments. Rowland Inc. was established in 1987 when Keith Rowland purchased Jack Laurence Contracting from Phil Laurence.

Keith Rowland learned the business from every angle. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1963 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, he went to work in the public sector for Memphis, Light, Gas and Water as a design engineer. Five years later Keith decided to enter sales and went with U.S. Pipe as a salesman covering central Florida. In 1972, he entered the construction side of the business by taking a job as General Manager with Boyce Company. Boyce was a Utility Contractor specializing in large diameter ductile iron jobs throughout the state. While at Boyce, Keith received his Professional Engineering License in 1973, and helped write the first State Utility Contractor's Exam. After purchasing Rowland Inc. in 1987, Keith was joined by his sons, Ken and Kevin, upon their graduation from college, and began passing on his complete knowledge of the industry. Keith retired in 2002 turning over management of Rowland Inc. to Ken and Kevin.

In 1992, Rowland Inc. started projects in the manhole rehabilitation and lift station rehabilitation businesses. Over the years we have rehabbed approximately 140,000 vertical feet of manholes and lift stations, primarily using Sewpercoat® and Raven Lining Systems. Rowland Inc. has worked for most of the utility owners on the west coast of Florida, with many of them being repeat customers.
